Wake up early, have an egg beater omelette with peppers, portebellas, capers and fat free feta. Yum! Also have creatine, multivitamin, and a tablespoon of flax oil. Good way to start the day! Have 3 yves veggie meat skewers and tofy phad thai throughout the day at work. Am busy the evening ( relative's wake ), afterwards we go to a greasy spoon for dinner. Not many veggie choices, i get a feta + spinach omelette. Probably too fatty and the like, byt i get home too late to work out, if i do, i'll never be able to go to sleep.

Yesterday was another so-so fitness day. I went to work very early, and my fridge at work is empty, so i got very hungry, then went out to lunch and got a sandwich from Jimmy John's. According to their webpage, 810 calories, 40g fat. Went to gym after, and did 400 calories worth of cardio, afterward had a coffee with some hot chocolate in it, probbly at least 200 cals there. So, i went to whole foods and jewel's to load up on healthy food, some of which i will bring to work. Didn't do yoga, was up doing stuff until late. Not a very good fitness day, actually.

Today breakfast was oatmeal + flax & protein powder. ~450calories.

Lunch was a fish sandwich and french fries. Very very bad! I didn't have food in my fridge, and went out with friends at work. I should have just had the salad and at least skipped the fries.

Went to gym, felt really gross from the lunch, a little sick actually, did 1 set of 80lb dumbell presses, then stopped becuase i didn't want to puke. I did stairmaster, burning 350 calories, then 150cals on the treadmill ( fast, on an incline ).

Dinner is a tomato soup with soy meatballs and a bunch of vegetables. I would have had salad + tuna but i already had fish sandwich for lunch.

I'll also do ~30 minutes of light yoga, to get my back lined up, and have a diet gin & tonic.

First post

Hi all! This is my first post to my fitness blog. I have created this blog as a way to remain accountable to myself.

I've been in ok shape for much of my life, at least insumach as i am pretty strong and can out-athletic most people. But, i've *always* been unhappy with how i look, sometimes very much so, and i am on track to change that.

I'm 5'10 and 197lb. My weight is fine, strictly speaking, i just want it to be hard stuff, not soft stuff. My first goal is to get my weight down to 180, and see what i think the next step is that that point.

I'm going to acheive this largely through weight training and calorie reduction, mixing in cardio as i see fit. The weight training will be to force my body to preserve muscle mass. It's critical to me that this weight loss not touch the muscle i've got, as it's so hard for me to get muscle in the first place!
